Terron Brooks Taps Into the Soul of Broadway at the CCPA on Fri., October 13, 8:00 PM
CERRITOS, CA – Ovation Award nominee TERRON BROOKS delves into THE SOUL OF BROADWAY with his re-interpretations of classic and contemporary Broadway songs at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Friday, October 13, 8:00 PM. The evening covers an array of Broadway favorites, such as a ’90s R&B take on Not While I’m Around from Sweeney Todd; Something’s Coming from West Side Story; and Tomorrow from Annie. Ticket prices start at $29.
Twice nominated for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Award, Brooks is known for his work in Broadway’s The Lion King and Hairspray and the Emmy-winning mini-series The Temptations.
Hailed by the Los Angeles Times for his “smooth and soulful” voice, the accomplished singer-songwriter-producer-actor-author has performed with entertainment industry bigwigs such as Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, David Foster, Randy Jackson, Stephanie Mills, Peter Cetera, One Republic, and Smokey Robinson. Brooks, who has toured with Phil Collins, was the opening act for The New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys tour. Brooks has performed on The Voice, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and American Idol. Brooks has appeared on the stage productions of The Lion King and Hairspray. He was also featured in Sleepless in Seattle: The Musical and First Wives Club: The Musical.
Nominated for an Ovation Award for his role as Daddy Brubeck in Sweet Charity, Brooks was twice nominated for a “Best Supporting Actor” NAACP Award. His portrayal of Eddie Kendricks in the Emmy-winning NBC mini-series The Temptations earned widespread acclaim.
